Tips for passenger safety;

 

1. Always note the taxi number. Take a photo with your mobile phone if necessary. The fleet number is located externally on the rear quarter, on the back of the vehicle and on the bonnet. Internally the fleet number is located on the windscreen or simply check the number plate.
    

2. Note the details of the driver on the Authorized Qld Taxi Drivers Display Card.
    

3. Let a friend know you are catching a taxi by SMS.
    

4. Position yourself in the taxi where you feel most comfortable. Drivers usually prefer if people do not sit directly behind them if there are vacant seats elsewhere on the taxi.
    

5. Mackay and Whitsunday Taxi vehicles all have livery, hail lights, taxi meters, EFTPOS and dispatch units which clearly identify the vehicle as a taxi. Our drivers all wear uniforms (Tropical Friday being the exception).
    

6. When you have finished your trip, ask for a printed receipt. Information contained on the receipt includes the price, taxi number and other information which can be used to identify your trip.
    

7.  Report good and bad experiences. Use the form below to tell us as best you can what occurred. Information is confidential and is placed on our Customer Register which is audited by Department of Transport and Main Roads.
